Container overview

The collapsible flat rack is a reinforced steel deck fitted with end walls and no side walls or roof. End walls fold flush for compact empty stacking and repositioning, then lock upright to contain and secure cargo in transit.

It handles pieces that exceed the width or height of a closed container, including machinery, transformers, vehicles, boats, cable reels and structural assemblies. Load concentration matters more than total weight on a flat rack, so the bearing points of the cargo should be checked against the deck rating.

Pro Box supplies collapsible flat racks in 20-foot and 40-foot lengths. Cargo wider or taller than the rack is treated as out-of-gauge and needs carrier approval before booking.

Condition and compliance

  • New / one-trip units, subject to origin availability
  • Used cargo-worthy units with valid CSC plating
  • Specialty-certified equipment where the project requires it

Equipment moving on an international booking has to satisfy the applicable carrier, CSC, inspection, prefix, marking and documentation requirements before it is loaded. Wind and watertight condition describes weather protection only, and is a separate standard from cargo-worthy condition.

Common applications
