Steel-roofed 40-foot open-top with a removable hard roof for crane loading and secure transit.
40 ft

The 40-foot hardtop keeps the crane access of an open-top container while replacing the tarpaulin and bow set with a removable steel roof. The roof lifts off for top loading and bolts back down for transit, so the cargo travels inside a fully enclosed steel box.
The door header on most hardtop designs swings out, which increases the usable door opening for tall pieces that would otherwise foul the header. Machinery, glass, marble and long fabricated sections are common cargoes.
